Conrad is a straight ally who was a member of LA/Valley Pride in California during the fight against Proposition 8. (LA/Valley Pride is a non-profit dedicated to the improvement of the quality of life for LGBTQ people through awareness. They participated in the No on 8 campaign.)

Conrad has since relocated back to Pennsylvania where he is continuing to work for marriage equality in his hometown by serving as a local organizer with MEUSA's Philadelphia Regional Organizing Committee.
