How You Can Get Involved in our Fight for Equality
There are many opportunities to get involved in the fight for equality that are run by different organizations. Here's a sampling of opportunities available in the south bay:
***Outreach Events - VolunteerJust One Day a Month***
While we have won some victories recently with Judge Walker’s overturning of Prop 8 and his decision to lift the stay, we cannot be complacent. We still need to change hearts and minds because the fight for equality is still not over. Volunteer with us to staff our tables at Farmer’s Markets and San Jose Pride. If you can volunteer for a 4-hour shift just once or twice a month, you can make the historic change we want. You will always partner with someone at these events and we will train you. Email Marriage Equality USA – Santa Clara County at ca-santaclara@marriageequality.org. Remember - just a few hours a month can make a big difference. ****Break out the Popcorn for a Spiritual Cinema Night!****
We can help your church or organization host a Spiritual Cinema Night to learn more about what the bible really says (or doesn't say) about homosexuality. We will provide the video and refreshments if you provide the place and publicity. Email us to schedule an entertaining and enlightening evening.
****Speakers Bureau****
We have an incredible presentation on the legal and scientific issues about homosexuality and Marriage Equality that we can arrange for your organization free of charge given by Ray Hixson, an attorney and the co-chair of the Santa Clara Chapter of MEUSA, and Dr. Kate O'Hanlan, a gynecological oncologist and surgeon. The length and content of the presentations can by tailored to your audience and needs. If you would like to book a presentation, please email us.
